    1. Re: [ARFULTON] 1870 Census look-up - Susannah Louisa K. Marriott
    2. J/W Hobbs
    3. Hi Marcia, Thanks for your reply. Census records are so hard to read, especially the originals. Could you clarify one other thing? Was the child Thomas in the F. M. Marriott household 4 or 6 years old? We found a marriage record for Mrs. Susan Reasons (50) to Grisso, Wm (60) both of Viola, Fulton Co. AR m. Aug 2, 1905 pg. 607, Fulton Co. Marriage Records. This started our search for more about Susannah Louisa Marriott who was recorded as married to Rubin Reasons in your internet file. After inquiring about census, marriage records, and cemetery records, we have started to assemble a family for Susannah and Rubin Reasons. In the 1900 census, Susan Reasons was a widow, had 4 children and 4 living. In 1910 Susan Grisso had 4 children 3 living. We saw the 1880 Bennett's Bayou census with Matilda Merryott (Marriott) listing a grand son 15 yrs of age, and thought the last name was probably Chadwick. Have you seen the original? Sometimes in transcribed copies, mistakes are made. The Martin 1870 census is interesting, however if Lousena is our Louisa, the age should be closer to 25 than 36. It really doesn't look like a good possibility. Let us know if you can add anything more to our search. 3. Hi BA044, Thanks for the 1870 Census record. Is the place of the census Benton twp? This looks like my Marriott family. Mary Mariot is probably Mary Matilda Marriott as this matches fairly closely to the 1860 Bennetts Bayou twp Census. T. M. could be F. M. (ages match) (Francis Marion Marriott was the son of Matilda Marriott. F. M. Marriott's wife was Susan Scott). Since Susannah Louisa Marriott was not in either of these households, she has probably married. Could you check and see if there is a Chadwick family with a wife Susan or Louisa and a child J. M. about 5 yrs of age. In 1880 census, Bennetts Bayou, Matilda Marriott had a grandchild J. M. Chadwick (15 yrs) living with her. Thanks for all of your help. 2. Jim and Wanda I was glad to see your query about Susannah Marriott. I will admit that I am one of the guilty for indicating Susannah was married to Thomas Chadwick in my database. And somewhere in that office of mine is some kind of paper handed down in my family where someone wrote just that. However, I do not know their source. Looking over everything I could get my hands on online, I have to wonder if the 15 year old Schadwick grandson living with Susannah's mom in the 1880 census is the reason. Do you have the names of Susannah's children? And grandchildren? In regard to the census sent by BA044@aol.com I'd like to correct it a bit. It really said: 1870 Fulton County Arkansas Bennett's Bayou Twp image 10 8 4 Martin G W 32 m w farmer ILL ---- Lousena 36 f w keeping house ILL ---- Lourena? 11/12 f w Ark July Scott Mary 16 f w L Marriott keeper? Who on earth is the 6 year old Thomas living with Francis Marion Marriott and wife Susan? They haven't been married long enough to have a 6 year old. 3. Hi, We are looking for a 1870 Fulton Co. Census record (or other record) for Susannah Louisa Marriott (Merryott, Merriot). She is 15 yrs old in the 1860 Bennett's Bayou twp. In about 1873 she m. Rubin Reasons, and in 1905 William M. Grisso. Susannah Louisa was old enough to be married in 1870, but she says in 1910 census that she had been married 2 times. Some have indicated that Susannah Louisa Marriott 1st husb. was Thomas Chadwick (or Chadrick), but we have not seen documentation for this. Susannah Louisa Marriott's parents were John T. and Mary Matilda (Shadrick) Marriott. Any help would be appreciated
