Lee Anne: Sunday, the lady who takes care of our church scrapbook/picture album brought it to me so I could type and put names under the pictures. ( I go to the Melbourne United Methodist Church.) Last night I was looking through it and the name "Boler" jumped out at me. It is a list of the women who belonged to the W.S.C.S. (Women's Society of Christian Services)This is now called the U.M.W. (United Methodist Women.) In this list is: Mrs. Anna Boler. A notation beside her name says: "moved away". I don't think this is the original list but someone has copied (in handwriting, no copy machine) the names. Just thought I should pass that on to you. Betty

Hi Folks! I got this from another list. It's pretty neat, an animated history showing the expansion of the United States: http://www.animatedatlas.com/movie.html You should be prepared for a lengthy download if you're on a dial-up modem. I am trying to find when my great great grandmother Pattie J. Singleton died. She married William C. Singleton on March 10, 1874 in Franklin Co. Missouri. Her full name was "Martha Jane Francis Jennett", daughter of James Henry Jennett and Susan Terresse Deupree. She always went by the name "Pattie". Her family moved from Halifax Co. Virginia to Missouri in the 1840s. I am lucky to have a family Bible and several letters concerning her life. What I am lacking is her death! Her widower would remarry in 1911. My last record for her was in December of 1904 when "Mrs. Singleton" visited her son and daughter-in-law, Edward O. and Livella Singleton in Stone County, Arkansas. Can anybody help me? Thanks -Mark Vernon Seattle, WA
Hi T.R.and all T.R. and I could use some help E-Mail from T. R. Garner sawdusty@swbell.net dated 19 January 2003 I show Thomas B. Wiseman and Hannah Moore as the parents of Thomas Hampton Wiseman who married Mary 'Aunt Polly' Elizabeth Isenhour. Hope we can finally get our records to coincide. trg Not sure where we got the info " think could be from Sharon Lawson " but we have them as Glover Davenport Wiseman and Martha Moore ???. We could use some help on this. Also we have his birth date as February 18, 1821. The census below would make him born in 1823 thinking that it would have been after February when the census was taken. Sharon Lawson are you still out there?. My husband's grandmother, Axie E. Cochran, was born in 1891 at Camp, AR. Her parents were George and Serena (?) Cochran. We are looking for information about them. Axie E. Cochran married James Henry Daringer of Cord, AR (Independence Co.) in 1910. They lived in Camp, AR, before moving to the Waterloo, Iowa, area. We are also interested in any information on James Henry Daringer's family who lived in the Fulton Co. area in the late 1800s--early 1900s.

Hi List: I'm looking for any information you might have on a Mr. A. O. Loring of Salem, Ark. He was evidently a roaming artist. I have located a wonderful pencil and chalk picture he drew of my great great grandfather's old home place which is located at Koshkonong, MO which is near Thayer, MO. (Howell or Oregon County, MO) That would be the home place of Milas P. "Pink" Pressley and the picture would have been drawn probably around 1900 - 1915. We just don't know for sure. I've had several copies made of the original drawing now so that other family members can have one too. The picture is signed "A. O. Loring, Salem, Ark." According to family story -- Mr. Loring came through the area, sat up on a hill across from the home place and drew the picture. Then my great great grandfather paid him an amount of money for the picture which is approx. 14 X 16" . It has retained the colors but has become very very brittle. I'm so happy we have a negative and copies of it to preserve for future generations. (By the way, the old home is still there.) If any of you have any info. on this artist, could you please let me know. I would be so appreciative. Thanks, Janice Sanders Callahan (near St. Louis)

Mornin T. G First thing thanks for your time and information you sent. In trying to get a handle on Elizabeth Wiseman I found that we had Thomas Wiseman that married Mary Elizabeth ( Aunt Polly ) Isenhower in our tree. Some of the info matched and some of it did not match your info. I found that we have Thomas Wiseman's Daddy and Mama as Glover Davenport Wiseman and Martha Moore. Not Thomas B Wiseman and Hannah Moore along with some other difference's. Below is what we have on that part of the Wiseman's. If you would not mind and have the time could you put some light on the info below. We are not sure where all of the info we have came from over the years trying to find Grandma Sophronia Wiseman. Judy is getting a copy of our Montgomery tree ready to send to Betty McCollum and Lorene. I told her about these difference's and we want to get it as right as we can before we send it. T.G., like I told Mary the other day seems like every time I stick my nose in this tree thing I get it going up side down. Thanks for your time and putting up with us. Mornin Mary Like I said seems every time I put my nose in this tree thing I stir it up. Over the years trying to get to Grandma Sophronia's family we have got a lot of information put together on the Wisemans. Some right, some has turned out to be wrong. In this case talked to Judy and she said she had put the info in the tree wrong. Should have been died in Fulton County Arkansas. Sure glad to get corrections. Thanks for the heads up. JIM M. Hi T. R. I think Judy has talked to you before. We would like any info you would care to share. Still trying to get a handle on Grandma Sophronia Davenport ( Wiseman ) Montgomerys family. Thanks to Mary Miller we have come up with one more trail for us to go down. Would like info on Elizabeth Wiseman born abt 1833 and her husband Samuel Rowan and how they could tie into the Wiley King and Maria A. (Marie) Rowan family. Elisabath was the dau of Martin Thomas Wiseman and Ann Ennis. Thanks inadvance Jim and Judy ( Shuck ) Montgomery JIM M.
Hi Mary You got me thinking about the wife's family of Wiley King ((( Look out seems when I do that I can get Judy and the list in one big mess ))) . I checked our tree and we have Wiley's wife as: Descendants of Wiley King 1 Wiley KING Born: February 11, 1821 in Alabama Source: Birth date copied from the King Family Bible by Violet King, sent to Dee Colvin"s mother - via email from Dee March 20, 2002. chrdcol@gte.net Died: November 21, 1871 . +Maria A. (Marie) ROWAN Born: March 04, 1820 in Alabama Died: April 17, 1872 Married: September 10, 1840 Source: Marriage date for Wiley and Maria King from King Family Bible Records copied by Violet King May 1, 1954 - sent email from Dee Colvin March 20, 2002. chrdcol@gte.net Also have Descendants of Samuel Rowan 1 Samuel ROWAN . +Elizabeth WISEMAN Born: Abt. 1833 Married: 1852 in Prob. Izard Cuonty, Arkansas ....... 2 John ROWAN ....... 2 Samuel ROWAN ....... 2 Thomas ROWAN Also have Descendants of Martin Thomas Wiseman 1 Martin Thomas WISEMAN Born: Abt. 1797 in Burke County, North Carolina Died: in Fulton County, Arkansas . +Ann ENNIS Born: in Fulton County, Arkansas Married: September 18, 1816 in Carter County, Tennessee Elisabeth is the dau. of Martin Thomas Wiseman and Ann Ennis Elizabeth WISEMAN Born: Abt. 1833 .......... +Joseph MARTIN ................ 3 Cordelia MARTIN ....... *2nd Husband of Elizabeth WISEMAN: .......... +Samuel ROWAN Married: 1852 in Prob. Izard Cuonty, Arkansas ................ 3 John ROWAN ................ 3 Samuel ROWAN ................ 3 Thomas ROWAN Can not tie Samuel ROWAN and Maria A. (Marie) ROWAN together. But it ties the Wiseman Family to the King family. Not sure where this will lead. Grama Sophronie Davenport Wisemans family can't stay put for ever. Sophronia is listed in the 1870 Fulton County, Arkansas Census page 109 with the Wiley King family: ( Note this census was Transcriped by Magie Garr and sent by E-Mail to us by Wilma Norton Also: Part of E-Mail 1 Feb 2001 from: Charles and Dee Colvin chrdcol@gte.net Hi Judie? Nice to meet a distant cousin!! Yes, my mother use to speak of Sophronia Davenport WISEMAN, and her name is among those that were in the family Bible. (Note: it was a King Family Bible per Dee Colvin) The Bible has Safronia D. Wiseman Born 24 February 1851 Married James F. Montgomery 6 July 1871 Thanks for your time Jim and Judy ( Shuck ) Montgomery JIM Mary Cooper Miller wrote: >One thing that had occurred to me was the King wife. Thanks for kudos, nearly embarrassed. Sharing is how we find each other. I was most blessed to receive a copy from cousin, Wm. Kay Moser. Title: The Family of John & Nancy Moser, written 1988. Copies may still be available. Cover has insert stating his address: 1903 Asbury Ave. Ottumwa, Iowa 52501-3816 and Cost $3.00. Has family stories and maybe 12 photos. I don't see a way to share photos, having some ongoing computer problems, and scanner not even installed. Will attempt at later time, but self-published book nearly 20 years ago, photos are poor quality. Back cover has 2 of "Morriston Basketball Teams 1926-27": Men's team: Johnny Moser, Lem Lewis, Clyde Perryman, and Curt Lewis. Ladies team: Edna Bell, Carmel Lewis, Ada Montgomery, Artie Moser, and Susan Moser (dressed in kerchief and pantaloon uniforms). I had asked his sister, Fay Hawley, for help on this line at John Wallace Moser's funeral. Gave her a print out of what I had and she forwarded it to Kay. Book has many family stories. I have submitted the entire line from the book; omiting only dates from 1950 to now. Photos include: p. ii ca. 1920: John and Nancy Moser Young adults. p. ii no date: Nancy Moser and son, John Wallace Moser John seems to be a teenager. Mom in Sunday hat p. 30 "Great Grandpa, his wife and daughter Susan, usually called Aunt Sussie" John Henry Moser - has 4' gray beard Martha Ann (Richmond) Moser - hair in bun, dressed in black, and Susan Moser - faded, has the height and posture of a model. p. 36 1945: Perry Vail, Charlie Moore, and Charlie Chadwick All wearing white shirts and of a mature adult age; sitting in kitchen chairs under tree. Other photos are of Noel and Lois Moser at different ages, various childhood photos of their children, and a few of 'the old' house' that was torn down and rebuilt. Would love to hear from you all. The way I understand this, one of them is Joe Harvey Blue or Joe Henry Blue. Would really like to get this part straight. My grandfather, David Henry ' Dave' Boles, was a preacher in the region, early 1900s. Preached from the BIBLE and didn't believe in dominations. I have heard stories from my other grandfather, Clifton Montgomery, about Dave Boles and Joe Blue (Church of Christ or Pentecostal) having several organized debates on religion that grew crowds. Another question: where do the Langstons come in? (My FTM is not up now either.) But, there are 2 Nancy Bookout (aunt and niece, I believe) . One of them married a Langston then a Buffalo. Anything on this? This post is from Belva: "I think it is probable that Rhoda and Sara Buffalo are one & the same person. I haven't seen the census. It's only info that Lucius Langston sent me in 1980. He was 81 at the time and may have confused the name. He said after her mother, Nancy, died the decision was made the let the children go live with their relatives. Ezekiel was about 14 and went out on his own. Lucius father, Henry, went to live with his uncle John Henry Bookout, a brother to their mother. William went to live with his uncle Francis M. Bookout, another brother of their mother and Absolum went to live with his aunt, Mary Ann Crouch. She had married William Howard Crouch. Later on Absolum went to live with his cousin, James D. Bookout (my grandfather) who was living with Sam Cochran. The little 9mo old girl went to live with her grandparents, Isaac and Rhoda Buffalo so that makes sense. Maybe he just got confused about the name. I know nothing about the Buffalo name, however Lucius said there were a lot of Indians around Little Strawberry Creek at the time. Sure wish I'd had a chance to talk to Lucius in person before he died." Does this mean any thing to you? Now that I have raised more question than answers, I can go to bed before the sun comes up. Thanks for your responses. Marsha
Hi Marsha, It's good to see you on here again. It's been awhile. Did you ever get back to Fulton County? I thought you should know that Larry Humprhies is planning to build a home on the site of James Montgomery's little log cabin and is going to tear it down. We were there last May, and walked through it again. I am so glad we were able to see it. Judie Montgomery
Hi Marsha, Thank you for this data. Through my Roberts and Nisbett families I find any number of connections, both relatives and neighbors. . One thing I'm positive about, Harvey Blue was a son of Henry Blue, not Joe Blue. And I never knew that Leona Moser, widow of my uncle Ernest Nisbett, remarried and had more children! We have been trying to unscramble the Roberts, Bookout, Montgomery, Langston, Crouch connections for some time. Oh almost forgot, I have Chadwick relatives too. This information is priceless, like reading a Fulton Co. history! It will take me days to digest all the information, but now I see how all the families were intermingled! What is the "book" you mentioned? - I am primarily interested inthe Crouch line...W.H. Crouch/ Mary Bookout, James William Crouch/Laura Belle Green, William P. Roberts/Dorothy Crouch and ME! Thanks!
