Thanks Marian, I am looking for; 1.what happened to Robert J.(possibly John) Smith that married Mahela or Mahala D. Hampton on Feb.1870 in Johnson County. 2.I am also looking for Noah Smith b. abt.1874 3.The parents or sibblings of Robert J. Smith. Robert J. Smith and Mahala had 2 son; John Thomas Smith b.Feb11,1871 Alix, Arkansas. Noah Smith b. abt.1874 Johnson or Franklin County Arkansas Mahala was the daughter of Adam T. Hampton and Elizabeth Grider. Robert J.Smith left or died before Noah was born.Mahala remarried Jesse E. Armstrong Oct 4,1874. John Thomas Smith married Laura Belle Eubanks in? Arkansas. They had these children;Harry Norman Smith b.Jan 29,1899 or 1900 in Denning Arkansas(<my grandfather),Ones or Ownes (?Clark) Smith, Noah Bert Smith,Helen Smith b. around St. Louis Mo.They lived in or around Williamson County,Illinois when Laura died Dec 1918. John T. Smith moved around alot worked in Coal Mines. John moved back to Franklin County . John died in June 1946 while living in Altus Arkansas. On JohnT. Smith's report of death it states his father as being John Smith. The person that gave the information was Helen (Smith )Fasel . After Laura died John sent Helen to live with someone not related to them in St. Louis Mo. She wasn't around her father that much. There has been rumors of Cherokee blood line in Robert J. Smith's line and I thought that it would make it easier to find information on him ,but that only complicated my search. I keep hitting brick walls. I don't have anything else to go on. I was trying to find a connection with the Smiths' of Coal Hill and Robert J. Smith. But with hardly no information,it almost seems impossible. I tried to find a obituary on him but failed.I found one R.J. Smith buried in Gar Creek Cemetery> "R.J. Smith May 2, 1846-May 2, 1903 Mason". He or she is buried in Gar Creek Cemetery. This is found in the book "Franklin County Arkansas Cemeteries - North of the Arkansas River", Sue Clark & Virginia McPhail, 1995. Do you still think you can help me? Thanks and God Bless!
