Scroll down to the WorldConnect Project Main Page link. Click on that. On the WorldConnect page that comes up, look for the box that says Jump to specific database (or something like that). And in this box you type wjfranklin. You will then be in my database and should see the index list where you have to click on the first letter of the surname you are interested in. Rootsweb was recently moving the WorldConnect project to a faster server so perhaps the system is down for a few days.... Let me know if you are able to view it.

    1. Re: [Franklin] ISLEY
    2. It's strange. I was just reading over the first few probate record books (from 1839 onwards) and came across this name Isley. I was actually looking for Ivey's and so I had to read this name several times before I was convinced that it was really Isley and not Ivey. The handwriting 150 years ago seems to have been meant more for the original author than for researchers of today! Can you give more (copious) details of the people you are searching for? -Will In a message dated Thu, 6 Sep 2001 12:42:03 AM Eastern Daylight Time, CMW12635@aol.com writes: > I am interested in corresponding with anyone researching the ISLEY family. > > Thank you. > > C. 1. Re: [Franklin] Re. HOOPER, Richard Franklin
    2. Hi Mary, Yes, the parents of Richard Franklin HOOPER were Thomas HOOPER and Selina HATCHER. Thomas (my gggrandfather) was born about 1813 in North Carolina and Selina was born about 1818 in Tennessee. Other siblings of Richard were: Martha Jane HOOPER b. abt 1834 in Tennessee, married Wm. P. Jackson 1854, d. before 1868 I believe John R. HOOPER b. abt 1835 in Tennessee, married Mary Elizabeth Tyson 1855, d. 1863 in Civil War Prison Camp in Maryland Mary Elizabeth HOOPER b. abt 1843 in either Tennessee or Arkansas (not sure), married Joel Tyson 1858, d. about 1860 Thomas Leonard HOOPER b. abt 1845 in Arkansas (moved to California I think and I've lost track of him, can't find him after 1860 census [still in Arkansas]) William Henry Harrison HOOPER (my ggrandfather) b. 17 Nov 1846 in Arkansas, married (1) Amanda Elizabeth Owens 1865, (2) Martha Lucinda Owens 1879, d. 1905 in Texas Salina C. HOOPER b. abt 1856 in Arkansas, married George Cartwright (lost track of her after the 1880 census) My Hooper's did not pass through Alabama as far as I know. They started in North Carolina and came through Tennessee to Arkansas. My Hooper's mainly landed and stayed in Pope and Conway Counties; however, a couple of them did wander over to Franklin and Sebastian Counties. I keep running into a James HOOPER or J. C. HOOPER and I can't connect him. I'm at work right now and don't have my notes on him handy, but I ran across him last night again while looking through some census records in Franklin County, I believe. I can't say I have run into your Mary Elizabeth or Susan, though, probably because I haven't researched in Alabama. We might connect all these folks somewhere, some day, but I don't think in these generations. I have quite a bit of information on these Hooper's, so if you want any more, just let me know. Happy hunting, Heather

    1. Re: [Franklin] Re. HOOPER, Richard Franklin
    2. Heather, Was wondering if you have a Calvin C. Hatcher born 1860 in Tennessee married Elizabeth F. and she also was born in Tennessee. I am guessing they married in Tennessee due to their older children being born in Tennessee, but the younger children were born in Arkansas.
