I have a couple of cousins working this line with me and we share information. Do we need to join the rootsweb mailing list for Franklin Co or are you talking about another list? We are concentrating on Levina Ivey the oldet daughter of George Ivey who was born 1822 in Arkansas. She is our direct line. We have alot about her but only know her first husband was named Baker and need more on that marraige as we all descend from a child of that marriage that was later adopted by Levina's second husband. I only know about Hugh Ivey marrying Arilla Strong because he lived near Levina and her husband in 1860.

I am a descendent of the James Ivy who was in Franklin County. I also have a few people on my list who are descendents of the Eliza Ivy. We are slowly piecing together all the Ivy, Ivey and Ivies who were in and around Franklin from earliest times until the late 1880s. For example, we have just figured out more about the James R Ivie who married Mary C Ivy in 1866. It might be helpful to add your email address to the group if you'd like. That way whatever one of us finds out about any of these Iveys, we can all share.

Hi Karen: How bad your Dad died. My Dad was my best friend and I still miss him. He died in 1964. We did all kinds of stuff together. I will print this email and get to my resources. It will take a while. I research Wood, Davis and Sharp to name a few of the problem kids. God Bless you and your family. Marian

I am his wife. Melvin was born in 1939, 1st wife Rowena Carlton; they had three sons, Tony, Troy, and Tracy. Tony married Carla, she was not Melvins daughter. They divorced after having two children, Blake and Kendall. Troy married Melissa Bernardi and they had two sons, Cody and Tyler. Then they divorced. Tracy married Rebecca Rendon (sp?), she already had a son named Nelson, then they had a son named Cordell. Melvin's second wife (me) Carolyn Barber Hampton. If there is any thing else I can help with just let me know.
Since there are viruses going around the person that sent me an e-mail replying to my search please tell me what you are sending me because I am not going to open an e-mail that I have no way of knowing what the REAFME.MP3.scr is. The name on the e-mail says it's from Tommy Duncan. Thanks Karen
Thanks Marian, I'm sorry it took me so long to reply,My father passed away and I had to bury him this past week, plus it was Thanksgiving................ I am looking for the middle itnital (J. or S. ) of Robert Smith that married Mahala Hampton in Johnson County Arkansas Feb 27?,1870. Looking for: if Robert was born in Arkansas or Tennessee, Robert and what happened to him (if he left-where he went and if he died -where he's buried. Robert & Mahala had 2 sons named : John Thomas Smith b. Alix Arkansas Feb.11,1871, At least that's what it says on John Thomas Smith's report of death paper that I have. I also have a copy of the newspaper clipping, but It doesn't have much on it. Noah ? Smith b. ? Alix Arkansas abt.1872 or 1873. I am looking for any and all information I can find on any of these 3 people. I know that John T. Smith died June 21,1946 in Ft. Smith, while living in Altus-he was married to Rose ? at the time of his death and is buried in Benton,Illinois where his first wife Laura was buried in 1918. I believe that his brother Noah Smith was still alive because someone searching Laura's Eubanks line had a grandmother who talked to someone named Harm Smith that said Noah didn't hardly get any thing when John T. Smith died. I think his 2 wife got what ever he had. I'm looking for John T. Smith that married Laura b. Eubanks (Franklin or Johnson Co.?) 1885-1918/married Rose 1919-1946 Noah Smith -Franklin or Johnson Co. after he left home.,who he married. Robert J. or S. Smith death date 1873-1874. Robert is on the 1870 census with Mahala. Also in a marriage book. 1870 Census; Robert Smith age 24 1880 Census; Robert age 34 John T. age 9 Noah age 6, or 7, 1890 Census; Robert age 44 John T. age 19 Noah age 16 or 17 1900 Census: Robert age 54 John T.age 29 Noah age 26 or 27 Thanks for any help! Good Bless Karen

He knew very little...just his grandfathers name..and that he came from Oklahoma or Arkansas..and his approximate date of birth. I have been working on his family tree...and came to a dead end with J.M. and Henrietta. I found that she was born in Franklin Co.,AR. in 1863. And they were married there in Sept.21,1879. So his date of birth was about 1858. They seem to have disapeered after getting married...but figure that perhaps they moved to Oklahoma..am I right? If you would, could you contact me directly? We would love to learn more! Kayo549@aol.com Thanks!
