Ed and George Spencer, brothers, were either cousins or nephews of the Lucy F. Daniel Jackson, wife of James Andrew Jackson. I've been looking at Old Times and cannot seem to make the connection by using Mr. Charles Jackson's biography, nor Mrs. Bankston's. However, I know that Charles' grandmother Lucy was a Daniel, a sister to Ellen Daniel Welch, the ancestor of John Spivey.
