January 23, 1908 page 2 col 2: Pine Bluff Jan. 22 - While seated on a curbing in front of a Main street store, which was crowded with shoppers at the time, Will Barham, 27 years old, of Cornerville, Lincoln county, pulled a revolver from his pocket and sent a bullet through his heart this afternoon at 3 o'clock. He fell over dead at the feet of Sheriff Ira Moore of Rison, Cleveland county, with whom he had been talking a few minutes before. The tragedy created great excitement. Barham came here 10 days ago and drank incessantly since that time. He is said to have been brooding over recent troubles. He was formerly in business at Wabbaseka, this county, and at one time worked at Monticello. Barham's body was taken home tonight by his step-father, Will Crook. No inquest was held. Barham's mother, two sisters, one of whom is a Mrs. Echols of Texarkana and one brother survive him.
