    3. Thanks Beth, but those aren't my Harveys. The Dandridge line is mine however, but it was not James Spotswood, but GovernorAlexander Spotswood of Virginia that we came from. I have some of these lines back to the 400s B.C. Martha Dandridge Washington is not in the Spotswood line. There is a Martha Dandridge in my line and she was a sister of my ancestor, Elizabeth Dandridge. Martha Dandridge Washington is from a Dandridge - Jones marriage (no Spotswood). Sir Alexander Spotswood (1676-1740) officer of the Brittisih Army, served under Marlborough; wounded at the Battle of Blenheim; Governor of Virginia from 1710-22 after bringing the writ of habeas corpus to the Virginians from the King of England, who had previously denied it; deputy Postmaster-General of the Colonies (1730-39), and Postmaster of Pennsylvania; Major-General (1740); organized and led the "Knights of the Golden Horseshoe" over the Blue Ridge Mountaines for the first time, and was perhpas the most popular and renowned of the Colonial Governors of Virginia. He married in 1724, Anne Butler Brayne, Daughter of Edward Brayne. (Have Spotswood Line). One: Immigrant, William Dandridge I. Col. William Dandridge II married Unity West A. Capt. - Col.
