Rebecca (and all), Not to create any more work for you, but what if we could all help put together another book on Drew County history? Maybe where "Old Times" left off? I was talking via e-mail with Pat Cowan yesterday, and hit upon a neat idea---making a video journal of Possum Valley, the homesteads where our ancestors lived, the cemeteries, etc. For folks that haven't been to Arkansas, or haven't been there in years, this would be a good way to share how & where our ancestors lived. Also, Beth, at one time you had mentioned it was hard getting young people interested in the history of the area. Does your school have a journalism department? Creative writing? Maybe a project idea for the students could be a video journal, or a photo essay, or recording some oral history from some of the "old-timers". Just trying to come up with ways to infuse the next generation with enthusiasm for the past! --Melissa
