Mary Herrod b.ca.1825 in Ms. married Bennett R. Allen 8/27/1840 in Hinds Co. (they lived in Madison & Attalia Co.s) and Elizabeth Herrod b. 9/11/1811 in Dickson Co., Tn m.1828 in Canton, Madison Co.,Ms. to John Braxton Allen. Yazoo Co., joins Madison and Attalia Co.s. The Herrods and Allens lived close to gether in Tn. and migrated together to Al. then Ms. The webpage from either Attalia or Madison Co. has a letter from Amos T. Allen, written after the Civil War that talks about the Allen's and Herrod's Happy hunting, Yates Calhoun
