Melissa, Walthall is not a very common name...so it will be well worth you time to try and make a connection to Major General Edward Walthall, who commanded a Division in Hood's Army of Tennessee. Conincidentally, General D.H. Reynolds Brigade was attached to Walthall's Division for period of time and may have been under it when Reynold's was wounded at Bentonville. Anyway, General Walthall was from Mississippi, and is buried there. I have a book somewhere that gives a brief biography of all Generals buried in Mississippi. Walthall's bio is in there along with his picture. I bought the book in a bookstore in Greenville a couple of years ago. I'll try to find it. If you want to read more about Walthall, his name is frequently mentioned in any history that give the details of Hood's 1864 Invasion of Tennessee and Johnston's defense of North Carolina.
