    3. Hi Everyone and Merry Christmas, I'm just curious to know if any of you more knowledgeable individuals have any idea where I might obtain Amnesty Oaths in Drew County? I just viewed a microfilm I rented from the FHC and found my ancestors names included in a list of individuals who signed Amnesty Oaths in Drew County during 1865 and 1866. Apparently this was done right after the Civil War by Confederates who had to swear and reaffirm their allegiance to the US. What I viewed was just a list of names. Does anyone know if the actual documents still exist? Are they kept at the courthouse? Maybe some archive? I'd really like to find them. I have also been told that it was generally soldiers who had to sign these Amnesty Oaths, but I am certain that none of my three ancestors who signed these Oaths ever served in the Civil War. I am certain they were Confederates at heart, but they never served in the War. Can anyone help me? Thanks much. Sandy Lewis [email protected]
