Ar Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ar/Drew/127 Surname: Boswell, Higgason ------------------------- Where does one go in Monticello to do family research? I was there yesterday...drove 7 hours to get there. I went to the courthouse...a lady that seemed perturbed that I interrupted a personal conversation let me look at a cemetary book, and when I inquired about census, she told me the library had all that. She had NO county books to look at for old birth, death, marriage. So, I walk across the street to the library, where another "dont bother me" person showed me to a bookshelf and said all county and state stuff is there...no census, no birth, marriage, death stuff...just local history, nothing catalogued to find anything. They tell me that everything is in the history museum..so I drive to that..only to find its only open two days a week...and Thursday isn't one of them. It never occured to me that I should have to call...when I called Pope Co, they told me just to comee on up, everything is in the courthouse and library. I may go back up there...I don't know, but if I do...where do I go??? My great grandfather was born there, and it would be nice to find out who his parents are. Any suggestions, y'all????? Marci
Hello Marci, I have quite abit of HIGGASON information. Maybe I could help you. I am sorry you had so much trouble. My great grandfather was a HIGGASON, My grandmother was a HIGGASON. Most of the information I have came from other researchers who live in AR and have been most helpful. Glenda Marci Peralez wrote: > Posted on: Drew Co.
