Albert James "Shakes" Wright was born at Bowser, Aug 6, 1908, the son of Emile "Emma" (Mew) and Ed Wright. Their other children were Herbert Lemuel (twin to Albert; m: Eddie Mae Donavan), Susie Abigail (m. 1st Calvin Fuqua; 2nd Perry Webb), Jessie (d age 3), Billy (d age 6), and a daughter, "Little Sister" (died young). Emile Mae Wright died and Ed Wright then married Nina Pascall. Their children were "Jack" Finn (m. Margaret McGriff), Adelle (m Harold Quimby), and Bernice (m ??). Ed Wright was born in Crook Township, Drew County, November 10, 1873, the son of Sarah Virginia "Jennie" (Nelson) and ?? Wright. Their other children were Florance (m. Payton Lasiter), and Frankie ( a daughter died young). Sarah Virginia Nelson Wright's second marriage was to ? Taylor and their children were Joe, Elv, and Claude. The Wrights were originally from Georgia. Emile Mew was born at Bowser in 1878, the daughter of Susan Abigail (Dunlap) and James Alexander "Jim"Mew. Their other children were John Henry ( m Mary Elizabeth Hargis), Leonard (bJan. 1881; died an infant; buried at Rough and Ready) Frank Edward ( b Dec. 31 1881; died 1969; married Easter Walthal), Hattie Sue ( b June 1885; died 1934; married Alonzo Tillman), and Abbe Sue ( twin to Hattie Sue; died age two weeks). Susan Abigail Dunlap died July 1885, and James Alexander Mew married her sister, Melissa Barbara, in 1888. They had no children. James Alexander Mew was born in Charleston, South Carolina, July 19, 1848, the son of John Mew. The John Mew family also had a farm in Georgia and reportedly lived in Charleston during the summers. When James Alexander Mew was twenty-one years old, he moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana and in 1875 moved to Drew County and settled near Bowser. He married Susan Abigail Dunlap, Jan. 2, 1878. She was the daughter of Elizabeth (Mathis) and John Dunlap. Children born to Mary Elizabeth (Hargis) and John Henry Mew were Annie Abigail (m. 1st Wesley DeArmond; 2nd Leonard Moss), Charles Leslie (m: Geraldine Mosley), and James Turner (m: Marie Stecker).
