Has anyone ever found a daughter of Josiah White and Nancy Barkley who stayed behind in Lauderdale County, Mississippi, while the rest of the family moved to Drew County? There was an Avy White who married a Wood gentleman in 1840 in Lauderdale County. Later census records show her name as "Avarilla". In the 1850 census, the Woods have a 5 year old son named Josiah. Oh, and in the 1840 census, there is a young couple (no children) with the head of household "W. Wood Jr.". This couple is sandwiched right between "W. Wood Sr." and "Josiah White"! This is just too big a coincidence for me to ignore, and I am wondering if Avarilla White is indeed a long-lost daughter of Josiah White. Thoughts? --Melissa
