    3. Carolyn, thank you so much for your quick reply. Yes, I didn't list all the children in my initial post for brevity (the ones I mentioned were the only ones living with L.B. or Sallie in 1900 -- I haven't looked for the others in 1900 yet). Thank you also for providing the children's spouses' names. This may help me find them in the census records. Guess I will add "look for possible divorce record" to my list of tasks next time I am in Drew County! I'll read the genealogy in "Bartholomew's Song" as soon as I get a chance. Why did each of them claim to be widowed? Were they actually separated or divorced? **** Melissa, I was able to contact some of the descendants of Lycurgus Bruce Owens and Sarah Agnes Steadman in recent years and have quite a bit of their history. No one mentioned what would be the answer to your question (divorce?), and my contact is now deceased. Lycurgus Bruce Owens was the <snip children's names> The genealogy of this family is included in "Bartholomew's Song" by Rebecca DeArmond Husky in the OWENS genealogy which I submitted and which covers the descendants of Ezekiel Brooke OWENS and Adelia Pendleton PAYNE.
