Carlton is mine. All I know about a William Carlton is that he was on the 1850 Itawamba Co., MS census as a child of James C. Carlton, before James moved to White Co., AR in 1860. I have found two of James' children, Francis Marion and Susan in AR, but none of the others. James' daughter Tabetha married James M. Files in MS and remained there. I suspect, but cannot prove, that James C. Carlton's middle name was, Columbus.
