Hi folks! I am searching for a needle in a haystack. My great-grandparents, William Allen Stubbs and Mollie Worthington Stubbs had a son in Wilmar, Arkansas in 1899. They later moved to Grant County, where Mollie died in 1914. I have tons of information about William Stubbs, but I know virtually nothing about Mollie, so I am trying to track her in Wilmar. What records or resources are there in Drew County that I can use? Rebecca, what sort of information are you looking for? This will help narrow the focus of what records you should be seeking. Have you already found the family in the 1900 census? What about 1910---are they still in Drew County or already in Grant? You should look at all the census records available---you never know if there will be a relative living with the family. The 1900 census should also tell you the month and year of birth for members of the household. Remember that women could not vote back then, and Social Security did not exist yet, so those types of records are out. If Mollie's husband outlived her, she most likely never owned land in her name. If her husband ever sold land, she would have signed the papers relinquishing her dower rights. Let us know what type of information you are looking for, and that will help determine what records to look for. --Melissa At 8:51 AM -0800 3/17/01, R Kemp wrote: > >My great-grandparents, William Allen Stubbs and Mollie Worthington >Stubbs had a son in Wilmar, Arkansas in 1899.
