Darryl, In my book, Excerpts from the Ashley County Eagle, Arkansas 1889-1914, I found these: Pete Carpenter died yesterday (Feb. 4, 1914). He moved here from Mississippi about16 years ago; survived by wife and one daughter. Buried at Mt. Olive Church. Ad and Claud Lagron of S.A.S. attended the funeral of their uncle, Pete Carpenter. Don't know if this is yours: David Switzer and Miss Ada Carpenter were married at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church at Farmersville, Texas, Dec. 25th, 1901. Marriage license issued to Mr. G.C. Carpenter and Miss Annie Crapps. Feb. 9, 1905 June 18, 1908 issue: a fine baby girl has come to make her home at the John Carpenters'. May 13, 1909: Mr. John Carpenter and his daughter, Miss Claudia, attended service at Shiloh last Sunday. Other Carpenters mentioned are Ann, Ben, Bertha, George, Georgia, Claudia, Nannie, W.C., and W. O. Hope this helps. Thanks for the information. I'll check my records but I know that it is the correct Peter Carpenter. Alice, I am from Wilmot in Ashley County. My ancestors, Fuller, Stanley, and Grant Families lived there from 1850's through 19194 era. Does your book have any references for these families?
