    3. The Prairie Hall Church was located on Midway Route Road {Praire Rd} about 8 miles south of Monticello. It sat in a large oak grove about 200 ft. from the road on the west side of the road. In 1933 lighting struck the building and done major damage to it. Sevices were never held there again. Services were held in the school for a few years before the church was disbanded. In 1938 Marion Higgins purchased what remained of the building and tore it down. My Great Aunt Nancy Higgins was church sectecary and kept the records when the church disbanded. I have in my possesssion 2 large timbers from this church that are 24 ft long. Maybe this will help clear up some things about the church. I can remember going to it at least once to a singing.
