    3. Melissa: Thanks for the post about Mrs. Hankins, I should have sent it. She was truly a treasure to our town. We miss her very much and are so very thankful for the stories she left behind. It was such a pleasure for me to play the part of her Aunt Minnie Lee Wilson, who was the daughter of Nathan and Martha Sanderlin Edwards and the sister of Ms. Wilma's grandmother at the Rough and Ready Cemetery . Ms. Wilma told me it was very hard to play the part of her grandmother as it brought back many memories of the hard time of the early settlers of Monticello and her family. If any of you have stories about your family that you would like to share please send them to us at the Museum and we will place them in the archives. Wonderful folks like Ms. Wilma and Ms. Henri Mason will not alway be with us to share life in Monticello and Drew County. We have lost a special lady in the death of Mr. Wilma Hankins. 2. Hey Jann, How are you doing? I view your entries each day. I'm going to be off the end of Feburary for a few days. Maybe I could hook up with you and go into Little Rock and help with the project your working on. Just let me know.Or maybe I could do some typing on the weekends, just let me know. Our insurance at work, Aetna finally signed up with you guy's. So now I can get a good checkup and get started on some hormones. My sister-in-law works for a fertility doctor in Little Rock and she's got me on birth control pills that has helped alot. You know after I started working for Dr. Murphy and saw blocked arteries all day I've stopped smoking, it's been almost 3 yrs now. So hopefully those birth control pills won't hurt me. Well, I'll talk to you later. Renita

    3. If I am not mistaken the actual time the records became available to our Society was last summer, but in the course of putting the information into the system, there was a computer crash and many records were lost. Safeguards have been put in place to prevent this happening again. If we could get enough volunteers it wouldn't take long at all. Until we get more "manpower", I can't say when, but hopefully within the next year. 3. The Arkansas Genealogical Society Board met today in the conference room at the state archives in Little Rock. We discussed the priors project that is underway. Folks, this is going to be one of the best and most helpful resources to people researching Arkansas records. At present we have 40,000 names placed in the data base. We hope to publish the first volume when we have around 80,000 names. More than likely this will be on a CD, but that has yet to be determined. I typed some of the delayed birth certificates, and was amazed at how much family information was found in each one. I believe one has been found for as far back as between the 1830's-1840's. It is a wonderful project and I wish I could devote more time to it. If any of you living within a reasonable distance of Little Rock would like to help with this project, please contact me. We need volunteers. Nancy Barber, another list member, can attest to the importance of these never before published records. I wanted to keep all of you up to date on the latest project of AGS. Hopefully, it will be an on going thing, and each year we will be able to print other volumes as they come available. I saw many, many, from the Bradley and Drew County areas and kept thinking...gee, I wish I could make a copy...but the health department made us sign a confidentialty agreement, and I think that was a good idea.
