    2. The only information that I have on May is that she and my oldest brother were married around 1937. I have a copy of their marriage license and have a picture of her. My brother's name was Leroy. They divorced in the early 1940's. If you're familiar with Drew Co, they lived just north of Lone Saffarass. Shirley Deal lived on the old home place where they lived. I've seen the ogles family in census records, but I don't think I have a copy of them. C.L. Jones

    3. Yes, May Ogles is in my family, but I don't have anything on her. Can you help me? My father-in-law was Pete Ogles, grandfather of my three children. I believe that May was a daughter of Aaron, son of Owen. Owen and Mr. Pete were brothers. I would love to have what you have on May. 3. March 30, 1897: We regret to learn of the death of Mr. J. H. Ragland, which occurred near Green Hill last week. He was one of Drew county's oldest and best citizens. Roy Jones, infant son of John T. and Fannie L. Jones, died at his home March 19th. Aged 1 year and 1 month. Little Roy was sick only a short time, when the Lord called him home; gently, lovingly. He laid His hand on him and said suffer little children to come unto Me, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven. He has joined the angel band and now is waiting for papa, mama, and dear little brother to meet on a bright beautiful shore. He is not lost, but like a star has vanished from our view to shine in a brighter world where he is only waiting at the gate to welcome us home. Weep not, fond parents, for God will comfort you; trust Him and He will whisper peace to your aching hearts. May you so live as to meet him in a happy home where all is peace and love. When the trumpet sounds little Roy will be waiting and watching for his loved ones whom he left behind. Safe in the arms of Jesus; Safe on His gentle breast. There, by His love o'er shaded, Sweetly his soul shall rest. Farewell darling, farewell; What you have suffered no one can tell. But oh, now you are at rest. Leaning on the Savior's breast. 3. One last question on the Kendalls, I promise, and then I'm done for the day. <g> "Old Times" shows a marriage for Cora O'Neill and James Monroe Kendall. I'm hoping some of the O'Neill researchers will be able to help me with Cora's middle name. Also, in 1900 Cora O'Neill Kendall indicated that she had given birth to 2 children, but only 1 was still living. Does anyone know what happened to the first child? I just looked at the census record again (below). Surely I copied Annie's age and birthdate down incorrectly. It seems more likely that she is under 4 years old. I will re-check this info. 1900 Drew County, Arkansas census E.D. 70, Sheet 3A Crook Township enumerated 6 June 1900 33/33 Kendall, Monroe head W M Mch 1874 age 26 AR MS AR married 4 years farmer " Cora L. wife W F May 1876 age 24 AR TN TN married 4 years has had 2 children, 1 still living " Annie E. dau W F Apr 1891 age 8 AR AR AR

    3. Hi, folks, Lately, I have been corresponding with another researcher on the Kendall family. This has helped me by getting me to organize the little that I have on the Kendalls. Below is the 1900 census information for the Robert Elisha Kendall family, and below that are cemetery records for what I believe are 3 additional children of Robert Elisha and Samantha C. Kendall, as well as the record for Elisha's first wife, Elizabeth A. Ozment Kendall. Does anyone know how these little children died? The deaths are not close together to indicate an epidemic or family illness. Hope this helps someone doing work on the White/Kendall families. 1900 Drew County, Arkansas census E.D. 70, Sheet 3A Crook Township enumerated 6 June 1900 34/34 Kendall, Robert E. head W M Mch? 1848 age 51 AR AL AL married 20 years farmer " Samantha C. wife W F Jan 1857 age 42 GA GA GA married 20 years has had 7 children, 4 still living " Robbert D. son W M Mch 1885 age 15 AR AR GA " John R. son W M May 1892 age 8 AR AR GA " Columbus S. son W M May 1894 age 6 AR AR GA " Henry P. son W M Dec 1897 age 2 AR AR GA Cemetery records for Kendalls buried in Drew County: Source: Drew County Association for Family and Community Education, "Drew County, Arkansas Cemetery Records, Second Edition". 1. [ARDREW] McGough question
    2. Melissa Jones
    3. Does anyone know if this person is the same as Jane Kendall, daughter of Sarah Jane White and Russell Kendall: McGough, Emma J. B. Feb. 12, 1852 D. May 31, 1906 wife of Thomas T. McGough (p. 401 of Drew County cemetery book; buried in 16th Section) "Old Times" says that Jane Kendall married a McGough. The birthyear of Emma J. McGough and proximity of the McGoughs to the Kendalls in the 1880 census makes me think Emma J. McGough and Jane Kendall McGough are the same person. Also, were Emma J. McGough and Thomas T. McGough the parents of Thomas D. McGough who married Frances Geneva Loveless? If this is the case, then my family tree has just looped back on itself again. :-) Thanks, all, Melissa

    3. The Advance July 15, 1913 (there are two death announcements for Mrs. Bowden) Last Sunday morning at 4 o'clock, the death angel visited the home of Mr. W. E. Bowden and took from it the devoted wife and mother. Mrs. Bowden had been sick over a year with that dread disease consumption and at last in spite of all that loving skill and loving attention could do she sank lower and lower and Sunday morning she passed away. Mrs. Bowden was a kind and loving mother and an affectionate wife; she was a member of the Christian Church. She leaves a husband, two daughters and two sons besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss. But weep not dear friends, though our hearts bleed for you, your loss is her eternal gain. She has gone from a life of suffering and pain, from a world of sorrow to dwell upon another shore. Where all tears are washed away. So weep not, but strive to meet her up there where no more tears are shed and where no goodbyes are spoken. A friend It is with extreme sadness that we announce the death of our neighbor, Mrs. Will Bowden of Old Troy which occurred June 29 (hard to read), 1913, of lung trouble. She bore her long illness with patience and was willing to die. Mrs. Bowden was born September 25th, 1869, and came to Arkansas when she was two years old. She was married to Mr. Will Bowden August 17, 1887. Our heartfelt sympathies are extended to the family. The remains were laid to rest in Old Troy Cemetery. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
