Hi, Beth, Yep, you're right. The Carters, Myhands, and Tuckers, were all in the Coleman area, and before that, I'm sure lived around Tyro. Do you know how I can contact Margie Carter Tucker? Thanks so much. Bill
Hi, Phil, My GGG aunt Martha Chamberlain married William STRICKLAND in 1856 in Shelby Co, TN, and I think they settled in Drew Co or a neighboring county. My Gr uncle Fred Brown married Mabel STRICKLAND about 1930. I think Mabel's parents were Simon and Katie Strickland. Any of this match your people? Thanks Bill in Dallas
Hi, Melissa, My GGG GF was Edward Young Terrell, Jr, minister in Drew Co in the 1850's and 1860's. His daughter, Barbara Angie Terrell, who married Henry Harrison Carter, was my GG GM. They supposedly were related to Thomas Terral, governor of Arkansas in the 1920'a. What info do you have? Thanks Bill in Dallas
I am not going to publish on ardrew. I am only going to send privately to those who request it. to those who receive it:DO NOT PUT ON WEB. You can put YOUR PART in your family history with source and put on your webpages, etc. Rebecca > > I'm a little nervous about this. I don't know if they are related. I have just started researching this part of my family history. I haven't been able to check the census records yet. I'm sure I will learn something from them. Matt Flood

I have a Hudspeth (also Joy Quimby Stearns has Hudspeth) through the Temple line, an ancester. I don't recall asking for C.F. Hudspeth, but I may have a use for it, which I haven't recognized yet. Also, I do have the Leslie line through my Adams (Julius Adams' daughter Almira married William Leslie). My Adams and Temple lines cross where Eliza Adams, my ggm married Tilman/Tilmon Temple c1901/02. There, too, I haven't recognized this S.H. Leslie, but could be in my notes someplace. Thanks. Helen

I'm a little nervous about this. It would not bother me, individually, but I do think that with the current political atmosphere, it could present a problem to someone. I believe it is just a little too personal for publication (as so many exposures have been on the internet already.) However, I will not object if you do go ahead. Helen Leigh
Wasn't someone looking for info on C.F. Hudspeth?? Anyway, I found his wife's obit in the Arkansas Gazette, Dec. 1, 1929 page 18 col 4: Monticello, Nov. 30 - Mrs. Hila K. For those who aren't on the ARBRADLE list, but might have relatives/ancestors from Bradley County, I just wanted to let you know that Jann Woodard extracted the WWII soldiers that got published in the Veterans' Day editions of the Eagle Democrat in 1943 and 1944. You can find these lists on the web at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbradle/1943_ww2soldiers.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~arbradle/1944_ww2soldiers.html There are several names I recognize as Drew County names, including a couple of Dearmonds, a Wolfe, and one "R.V. White". Bill, your dad was a pretty young soldier, wasn't he? Enjoy, Melissa
Is anyone here researching Terral/Terrall/Terrell in Drew County? If so, I believe I have found a cousin for you. Please contact me privately for more info. --Melissa

This was my thought as well. I will be honest and tell everyone that I had every suspicion that my great-grandpa was going to be in the KKK minutes that Rebecca found. He was not in them, but I wouldn't have been disappointed to find him. It is another piece to add to the family puzzle. It is not my place to pass judgment on my ggf; he died over 40 years before I was born. As someone once said, "You can't choose your ancestors!" Everyone's opinion is welcome, and I am glad to get a discussion going so quickly on this subject. We have talked here before about 'skeletons'. One person's skeleton may be just another nugget of family history to someone else. Myself, I am insatiably curious and want to know everything. But I also respect others' wishes when they would rather see things discussed privately than out in public. Keep those opinions coming! --Melissa
here is what one of our list members thinks. I am not being squeamish here....just do not want to publish something that may hurt or anger someone. Hello Ardrewers..... I have copied the minutes of the KuKluxKlan in Monticello. They date from Sept 28, 1922 - Oct 6, 1925. >From these copies I made a list of names mentioned and a few of their doings. I sent the list to Melissa and a few other old-time list members and we entered a discussion as to the appropriateness to publish on Ardrew or not. The general concensus is to not publish, but to send to only those who request it. If I do send this to anyone, it is NOT TO BE PUT ON THE WEB ANYWHERE. It would be best to simply do lookups from requests, but that would be much too time consuming. What do you think? Rebecca
