Do you have a Gill who married Willie Tubbs. My widowed maternal gggrandmother married a Gill. She was first married to William Tubbs and lived in Drew County.
Here's another suggestion. Try going to the Arkansas archives: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ar/search.htm Search for "Tribble" (without quotes). I got back 34 hits, including one that indicates Tribble is one of the names in "Old Times Not Forgotten". --Melissa

Hi, Paul, I have been meaning to send the Tribble info. from the Drew County cemetery book for a long time. Here goes: (p. 261) Oakland Cemetery, Patton Addition, Block 1 (White) Tribble, Alberta McHan b. July 7, 1909 d. Sept. 8, 1983 Tribble, Thomas (Tom) b. Feb. 23, 1900 d. May 6, 1988 ---------------------------------- (p. 315) Old Union Cemetery (White) Tribble, Frank W. b. Oct. 18, 1820 d. Oct. 18, 1893 ---------------------------------- (p. 321) Ozment Valley Cemetery (White) Tribble, J.C. b. Dec. 4, 1861 d. Oct. 18, 1886 (I think this may be the Tribble who married Mary Ann Ozment Knowles) ---------------------------------- Source for all cemetery records above: Drew County, Arkansas Cemetery Records, 2nd ed. Monticello, Arkansas: Drew County Association for Family and Community Education, 1994. Hope this helps. Have you tried the Drew County courthouse to find a record for the George W. Gill marriage? --Melissa
Were any of George W. Gill's descendants or relatives Richie's, House's Gilbert's or Jacks. Has anyone worked on the Tribbles genealogy? George W. Gill 1811-1893 married a Mary (Tribble?) 1818-1879. The surname Tribble comes from published genealogies but I haven't yet been able to personally confirm the surname Tribble is valid. Just starting to piece together the various data on Tribbles in hopes of finding whos who in that clan. Even bit & pieces of data welcome - especially when data sources are given!! Latona is listed as a post office in Ashley County 1858-1867. Location was Sec 6- T18S- R8W. That places it a little over two miles south of modern Crossett. There is a Latonia listed in Washington County. 1854-1887. Local name was Latonia; post office name was Billingsley. Rebecca
You are a wonderful bunch. I think I received 5-6 replies for the request for the place search site. Thanks to each of you who responded. Rebecca

Try Karen she's very good and does lookups Roy -----Original Message----- From: Wayne Groce <wgroce@netdoor.com> To: RCG <roycg@earthlink.net> Date: Saturday, January 30, 1999 4:04 PM Subject: Re: ATTN: Drew Co. Query: Hi, Roy. I'll take a look through the copies I have of the 1920 census while watching TV tonight and see if I can find the RITCHIEs. I don't charge for copying these. I have a copier at home, and can make a copy of the copy I have for very little cost. I'll let you know what I find. I don't know how much a copy of divorce proceedings would be; I usually just send $5 or $10 to cover the clerk's work and the copies. That usually takes care of it unless the file is really large. And I always include a SASE. With a kind note, that usually does the trick. :-) I can't remember if you asked other questions. If so, I'll catch them later after I look through the census stuff. Back to you as soon as possible. Karen
Hi, all, In December, when Dad & I were doing research at the Drew County courthouse, I found the following marriage record: LOVELACE, Harvey Wade, age 30 SMITH, Edith Elizabeth age 29 married June 14, 1943 Drew County Marriage Book CC, p. 583 I copied it down, although I didn't recognize Harvey as one of the Drew County Lovelesses. I still can't figure out who he is. Does anyone know the identity of either Harvey Wade Lovelace or Edith Elizabeth Smith? Thanks in advance! --Melissa
Is there anyone out there, who owns a Drew County, Arkansas Cemetery Record book, that could make me a copy of page 77-78 and send it to me. My book has 2 copies of page 79-80. Thanks, Charlene Chambers
