    3. Jo-Ann: Since Scott Cemetery is in Jefferson Township, Desha County, I looked at a 1939/41 Desha County Highway Map I have in my file. Churches are shown by a small black square with a cross on top. There are numerous "country" church besides the ones in towns such as Winchester, Tillar, Pickens and Walnut Lake. There is no indication of denomination and I'm sure some of them were "part-time," with services once or twice a month. Guess you might find out the names from the Association. I seem to remember that this area of the county was in the Bartholomew Association of Baptists. Sorry I can't be of more help.
