Tubby Joe: There now are four of us. I have subscribed, but have not yet sent my data. I am looking for information on my grandfather's sister, Clara BOLDEBOOK, b. February 1885 in Ark., d. abt. 1976 in McGehee, Desha Co., Ark. She was married to Thomas IVY. After he died, she remarried a CLAY. My grandfather was William Franklin BOLDEBOOK, b. March 23, 1883/Indianapolis, Marion Co., Ind.; d. July 9, 1970/El Dorado, Union Co., Ark. He married Ella TEMPLE of Warren, Bradley County, Arkansas. My father, Leavitte Julius BOLDEBOOK, was born September 3, 1910 in Fordyce, Dallas County, Arkansas. So, you can see they are spread all over, but mostly lived around Warren. Abner A. Adams and Catherine Henry were the parents of Eliza ADAMS, who married Tilman TEMPLE, and had my grandmother, Ella TEMPLE. Desha County Searchers, My name is Louis Reitzammer, born and reared (until 19) at Arkansas City AR. Presently, I live at Jackson, TN, and am co-ordinater of the ARGenWeb site for Desha County: http://www.public.usit.net/reitzamm/ Right now, I am interested in researching the family of George Royster Lacy (1861-1922), who married my mother's sister in 1907 after his first wife died. "Uncle George" was born in St. Mary Parish, LA, and came to Arkansas City around 1880. His occupation was levee contractor, but he also farmed. He was elected mayor of Arkansas City in 1895 and 1900. He was sheriff of Desha County from 1912 until his death in 1922. His four children are all deceased, only one having had offspring. That child was a daughter, Louise, from his first marriage, who married Robert (Bob) Culpepper, and had a son and a daughter. This Culpepper family moved from Arkansas City to either Pine Bluff or Little Rock. So far, I have been unable to locate these persons. I'd like to share with them the information I've discovered and get any other data about the Lacy family they may have. Can anyone help me locate them? Does anyone on ARDREW-L know if Desha and Chicot counties lists are active or inactive? I haven't been able to get any sort of answer out of either of them since subscribing. Hi List: Can anyone tell me if they know where Mary Jo Covey was buried in the Walnut Lake Cemetery? A marker was never installed and the records seem to have gone missing over the years. She died in February of 1962. My father, Charles Evert Covey, is also buried there but I have located his grave site and will be installing a marker very soon now. I would like to do both at the same time however. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Hi List: Does anyone on the Desha County List live on or near the Arkansas River? While not specifically genealogy related, I am making a boat trip downriver from Tulsa, Oklahoma to the Mississippi River and need to make contact with as many people as possible in order to determine refueling points and places to stay. I have navigation charts that should tell me that but they are outdated before they are printed. I know the marina at Pendleton was still working the last time I was there and that would help a little just to know that it still is. That sort of information will be helpful to me. I am a 1952 graduate of Watson High School in Watson, Desha County.
