Hi, I'm new to the list and I'm looking any information on the following family. Thomas was my grandmothers half brother. What I have, I got from census and letters written to my mother and Grandmother back in the 1920's postmarked Alma Arkansas. Thomas N. McAlister b. ca 1876 Johnson Co,AR d.Mar 3, 1937 Crawford Co AR marr. Grace ? b. ca 1881 Arkansas. children: Paul McAlister b. ca 1907 Crawford Co, AR marr Hazel ? Steele McAlister b. ca 1908 Crawford Co, AR Jewell McAlister b. ca 1910 Crawford Co, AR Lansing McAlister b. ca 1919 Crawford Co, AR. Thomas N and Grace were both schoolteachers and taught school in and around Alma. They also farmed and lived about 6 miles from Alma and lost their home in the tornado of Oct 1st 1927 and had to live in a tent and the well house while rebuilding. I live in Missouri and have been unable to find a copy of the "Histories in Tombstones" cemetery listings. I suspect that it might hold some answers. I would also like to have the marriage record for Grace and Tom and to know her surname. Thanks, Nina Scotti
