I found this on another list. Nan ---------------- ....just thought I would point something out for researchers who might not be aware. In rural areas, a person's residence might have been in one township and a post office address at a neighboring township....depending on which post office was closest to the residence. Often relatives back East would get mail postmarked in a particular township. It was then handed down through the generations and in records and books that the relative who moved "out West" , lived at the wrong township, albeit a bordering township.
