Hi: If you go to: http://www.nara.gov/education/cc/ and click on the Maps of Indian Land, etc - you'll find a map of OK divided into its Indian tribal lands. There are also great maps of the 1700s and 1800s at: http://scarlett.libs.uga.edu/darchive/hargrett/maps/expand.html Many of these maps at this U. of Georgia site are of the south. By looking at the 1816 southern map - I'd say the early arrivals in Lawrence Co. went down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers - then up the White River. The Black River is also on this map. Nan
