    3. Around 1880 Henry Baker and Martha Ann Penwell Baker Hatley lived in Crawford Cty, Ark. Two of their daughters were married to Hubert Alexander Bell. One daughter was married to George Washington Stafford. When this letter was written, Hubert A Bell was living in Texas. Here is a letter written by G. W. Stafford to H. A. Bell. I have enjoyed reading about all the strawberrys in Crawford Cty. I thought some of you would enjoy reading this letter. Patsy Baker Crafford Co ak mountainburg October the 18 1879 hubbert i will drop you a few lines to let you no that we are all well at presant. hopeing that this will find you the same. hubbert i soled out my place before i got your leter. i was a going to get the chance ever try again. hubert i maid the best crop this year that ever maid. i will make 5 bales of cotton, about 150 bushels of corn. you bet i shucked ears good an fast. I sold one bale of cotton the other day. i have got a good mule 1 mare horse a colt 4 cows and a wagon. i have 5 head of hogs. i will not sell nothing till you write to me what wouldbe the chance for move......man write what bacon is worth what flour is worth an corn. hubbert be shure to write soon as you get this.
