Deanie, I found many references to Gregorys, but only a few that related to my family and one that related to a Corder family in KY. Another researcher stated that Gordon Corder was buried at the Gregory Cemetery in KY. As you probably know, David Corder was a very early resident of Crawford County. In 1870, Martha Gregory of KY was living just two households away from the EB and Margaret (Corder) Hassett household. Margaret Corder was Abraham Corder's sister. The Jonathan Fine household [Fines also inter-married with the John Corder family. John is probably a brother to Ed Corder] was next to T? B. Pope household which included Reuben, and Matilda Corder (Abe's parents), Abraham Corder and Eliza Rush who became my grandmother. You might recognize a Jonathan Fine who was in Lafayette Twp. in Crawford Co., AR by 1870. He was living next door to my gr grandfather Abraham and his father Reuben Corder in the 1870 census. Jonathan, 57, was from AL. His wife Rachel, 46, was from KY. Their children, Caril and Calvin were born in AR. A Dick Fine was a casket bearer for my gr-aunt Mallissa (Simmons) Corder [86], w/o my Uncle John Corder. Dick Fine also attended a birthday party for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meadors. Meadors were Corder family friends. In 1910, a John Gregory was living next door to a Basham family. My Uncle John's daughter Lela m. a Basham. I have some hazy recollections of hearing conversations about my cousin's Basham family. They owned a nursery in Crawford County. It seems as though the Gregory family was mentioned along with the Bashams. Five doors away on the other side of John Gregory was a Wm Corder family. His wife was Ann Stevenson. Abraham Corder's son, Edward m. Mary Steele in Crawford County. Her parents were James Henry Steele and Margaret Thomas. Their families m. into the Stevenson clan. In 1900 Nimrod Corder who was related to Gordon Corder was living just four households away from my Gr-Uncle John's guardian, NLC Baker. I've been wondering if Nich Baker was somehow related to the Rebecca Baker that m. Steven Corder. A John T Baker was living between them. NLC and John Baker's fathers were both from TN. NLC's mother was also from TN and John's was from Georgia. Both of Uncle John's and my grandfather Edward's parents were dead by 1894. I have not yet figured out why NLC was chosen as Uncle John's guardian. Later a JG Rogers became his guardian who was probably an long-time family friend and another neighbor. There is a William A Corder, a Thomas Corder and a Nimrod Corder lving in the same twps as my Corder families (aunts and uncles) by 1910. It is my understanding that all three may belong to the part of the Edward Corder line that moved to KY. In Lafayette Twp. in 1900, Nimrod Corder is living 21 households from my gr-aunt and her brother. In 1910, J C Fine is listed 60 families away from Wm Corder in Lafayette Twp and a Gregory Pope is five households past Wm Corder. Thomas Corder is 92 households away from my Uncle John Corder and his wife Melissa Simmons Corder in Whitley Twp., Crawford Co. AR. Well I've managed to say a lot about very little, so I guess I will close. If you see any connections please let me know. I have found many near misses with the Edward Corder family--many dead ends that started out looking promising. Maybe I'll someday find a link. Nancy
