If it was, what did they > raise? > > Billie > Billie, I cannot answer your question about farming in the Dora area with any expert knowledge however we had occasion to drive the "back roads" or lesser known highway recently in a short cut from near Figure 5 community north of Van Buren and cut through Dora to get to Garrison Ave. bridge in Fort Smith for the annual Mayor's Fireworks party on the Ar. River. The area was quite hilly and curvy, winding through the little community of Dora, and it certainly didn't look like cotton farming land. If so, maybe there was farming at one time but only on a limited basis. The area wasn't at all like the farming operations ongoing further east in AR such as cotton crops at one time, but now alot more soybeans and rice farming. Hope this helps, and maybe someone with more info about Dora community will come through. Glynda
