To Nancy Corder Halvorson, I was wondering if your Corder family have any connections with the Mathis, Vaughn and Gregory families. They are my family who moved from Wayne Co. Kentucky to Crawford Co. AR. The farm was near Frog Bayou. A Bayou in AR is another image I've had a hard time picturing--especially in the hilly NW part of AR. They'd take their strawberries to Bond's Special then load them on the train. Since my dad and aunt were born at the turn of the century, then I'd guess they were talking ca 1910-1925. Great memories for you about the strawberry growing. The Bayou part of Big Frog is down where it runs in to the Arkansas river. Up where your grand's lived it just a regular mountain stream. The Bayou part has a ggradient around 1 ft per mile. Up in the hills it drops somewhere around six feet per mile. Deanie, At 28-01-07 07:02 PM, you wrote: >To Nancy Corder Halvorson, >I was wondering if your Corder family have any connections with the >Mathis, Vaughn and Gregory families. They are my family who moved from >Wayne Co. Kentucky to Crawford Co. AR. Deanie > I found one connection so far. Here is what another research stated. I have a David CORDER b 1807 out of Va to Wayne Co KY married to an Ursley GREGORY in Wayne Co. I also have a Stteven C CORDER married to a Rebecca BAKER (no dates/places for either) who has dau Mary Ann b1874 married to a Lewis KOGER b 1870 in KY--their kids get wound into the GREGORY lines. I have a Gordon CORDER b 1884 that connects to a James G CORDER b 1830. All these CORDER connect some way to GREGORY BELL KIDD KOGER (could be KROGER) which in turn connect to TROXEL VAUGHAN. Later Richard Richard's e-mail is RGreg2080@aol.com Steven and David were sons of Edward Corder of Frederick and Montgomery Cos., VA. Some of Gordon's relatives were neighbors to my family. I've got to go to work now. I'll look for more records this evening. Nancy
