    1. Re: [ARCRAWFORD] Old Stage Coach Route - Belmont (abandoned town in Graphic)
    2. I am not very good about the history of the area, but I have grandparents buried in the Bolton Cemetery, and for a long time had no clue about why the census data and my mother's old 'Belmont' address were no help in dealing with them, and if it's OK with you, I'd like to stay in touch. My wife and I are expecting to visit the area, and specificall Bolton Cemetery, in early October. My great grandparents were named Jones--John Speed Jones and his wife Mariam, who immigrated from Whitley County KY late in the 1800's, apparently with others from Whitley County, and named their township Whitley Township. My grandfather was Philos Stratton Jones, federal judge-commissioner at the federal Choctaw courts in Pocolo, IT/OK, and later at Whitefield, IT/OK, where my mother was born in 1899. I have located some distant cousins, from Arkansas ancestry, at Spiro, OK Duncan Wall 50 Ancient Way Yarmouth Port, MA 02675-1201 508-362-3359 EM: _WallDuncan@AOL.COM_ (mailto:WallDuncan@AOL.COM)

Yes, please keep in touch. Even small clues sometimes lead to bigger ones. There is a CORDER family that also migrated to KY from Whitley County, KY. My Uncle John was in Whitley Twp in 1910 as was Berlin Graham who appears to have been the father-in-law to John's sister Margaret. Uncle John was living with Margaret and her husband in 1900 in Lafayette Twp. A Thomas Corder hh was also in Whitley Co in 1910 and 50 hh away from the Berlin Graham family and 88 hh away from my Uncle John Corder's hh. Thomas was from MO and his parents were from KY, so he may have been a descendant of a John Corder who m. Elizabeth Mahoney in Shenandoah Co, VA. They moved to Harrison Co. KY by 1820. In 1900, my only ancestors left in Lafayette twp. was John Corder who was living with his sister Margaret Graham and her husband Thomas Graham. Two other Corder hhs were also in Lafayette Twp.--Nimrod and Wm Corder. Nimrod (who was 22 hh away from my ancestors) and Wm Corder were from Whitley Co. KY. Later, a Robert Corder m. in Crawford Co. He appears to have been related to Nimrod. One of Thomas Graham's sisters believed that Robert was a cousin to my Uncle John and Aunt Margaret. However, we have never found any proof. Before my Aunt Margaret m. Thomas Graham, he was living living with his father Berlin Graham in Whitley Twp. in 1900.
