I, too, can relate to the memory of the older ladies in my research. My daughter and I had discovered that a grandmother was from Norway and no one in the family had ever known it. As I was telling my father, her son, one time he laughed and said' 'that is why we could never understand mother and grandmother when they got together'. Problem solved.
