Hi: A ver nice researcher on another mail list sent this to me involving the Hinds surname. Since some of these were Crawford Hinds I thought I would post it to the Crawford list. The Major John Hinds who died in 1838 and the Davis Hinds (really David Hinds) is his son. Does anyone know about this Benjamin Hinds tried for murder at Ft. Smith? I am posting this to warn others about problems with ; Census Microfilm Expeditors 476 E. South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; [email protected] I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". Thank you , Kenneth Sartin
I am looking for MOORE's who lived in Crawford Co., probably Van Buren, from abt 1886 to abt 1890. Can someone tell me what, if any, tax records are available for that time period. I'm open to any other ideas to find these family members!! Thanks, Susan Hudspeth

Nan ======= "Hi: I just spotted your AR project and sent info on it to several mail lists encouraging people to send their AR Family Group Sheets to this project. I received this question which I could not answer. "Are they accepting FGS that are common with software such as PAF or FTM? Kathleen or anybody - do you have info on the following Crawford/Sebastian County doctors: J. K. O'Kelley - 26 year old physician (in the 1860 Sebastian County Census, Washburn Township) born in North Carolina. Wife Margaret, 24 born in GA, son Henry, 1, born in TN. J.W. O'Kelley - listed Fort Smith Telephone Directory, 1906-1917 at 902 Garrison Ave. Charles Spurgeon Lane, Jr. - Son of Charles Sr. and Marie Temple of Missippi. I'm trying to find out if his mother connects with my Temple line. A. Earl Hardin - May 13, 1847 to May 14 1920. This guy is connected to me by his marriage to Martha "Mattie" Carolyn Temple. I want to know more about their descendants. Thanks for any help you can give! I have more details on Charles and Earl if anyone wants to know. Actually, Charles Jr. goes to my church, so I'll have to quiz him tomorrow!! Chandra (Dawson) Martin

One place i remember being mentioned was a webpage called: Original Arkansas Genealogy which has a Civil War name collection. It is at: http://www.compnetar.com/~billc/ Since my AR ancestor left AR before the war I didn't keep the messages. Sorry. You might go to the mail list archives at: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl and punch in " ARRANDOL-L " then search for the words Civil War. If you have only e-mail capabilities and not internet - let me know and I'll do the search for you. Regards, Nan

Hi: Just discovered that the AR GenWeb is collecting family group sheets. You can cut and paste into your word processor the form that they have online - fill it and then submit it to them. Go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ar/arfiles.htm and click on the family group sheet section. Regards, Nan
