I am researching DAVIS, WATTS, MCCUIN, RING, BROWN. My greatgrandfather is Horace Greely DAVIS. He was born about 1878 probably in Arkansas or Missouri and was orphaned at a young age. He lived with a couple of different cousins while he was a child and did not know his parents' names. Horace's daughter thinks the cousins' names may be: John MCCUIN and Woody RING. The marriage record for Horace Greely DAVIS and Rhoda WATTS(who's family lived in Hector for awhile) shows he was living in Cleveland, Conway Co. Cleveland is about 15-20 miles east of Hector, Pope County, Arkanasas where a large family of MCCUIN'S are buried at Walnut Grove Cemetery. The father of all the MCCUIN'S buried here is John Frank MCCUIN. The Pope County marriage records show that John Frank MCCUIN'S parent's Isaac MCCUIN and Rutha BROWN married 16 Oct, 1873. The time frame seems right for this Isaac MCCUIN family to be the aunt and uncle and cousin that possibly raised Horace Greely DAVIS. RING (groom) age 20 to Mary E. F. ATWELL age 18, 20 Dec. 1867,Pope Co. Horace may have moved with one of his cousins to Clevland in Conway County.
