I do have a roster and the only Townsend that I found was Robert M. Townsend. Could this be your Robert Simpson Townsend? There is an Invalid Pension listed for Robert M. of Company G. and also a Widow's Pension. He died 6 Feb. 1926 in Asher, OK. This Townsend was a Pvt. in Co. G; enrolled 13 Dec. 1863 in Conway Co., AR. Birthplace was Chatanoga (?), GA. Hope this helps. Carolyn jhaisty@tcac.com
