Looking for information on the death of John Cagle VAUGHAN abt. 1899 in Conway Co. Arkansas. John Cagle was b.11/30/1871 in Pope or Conway Co. AR. He married Nancy Carolyn STROUD, daughter of John Hicks STROUD and Nancy Jane CUNNINGHAM. John and Nancy were married on 9-Sept-1889 in Appleton, AR. They had 4 children before his death: Willie (female) b. abt. 1891; Guy McKinley b.1893; Earl Hicks b.1896 and Johnnie Dell b.1897. John was said to have been murdered for trespassing, coming upon an illegal still, then shot in the back.
