Looking for the ancestors and descendants of JOHN TUCKER, born in 1765/66 in the Missouri Territory. In subsequent census the same area was called Perry County, Arkansas and Conway County, Arkansas. >From a will generously given to me by Helen Kirtlan-Fingando of Sacramento, CA we find that John was married to a woman named HAPPY TRAVICE and had three children: 1. ELIZABETH TUCKER, who married a LUCAS. 2. SALLY TUCKER, who married a MEDLOCK 3. LARRY TUCKER It looks like these children were born between 1785-1788. There was no divorce. The will states,"...I give and bequeath to my lawful wife, Happy Travice, by maiden name, one dollar as all of that portion of my estate hereby intended to be conveyed to her or such heirs of hers as may have been born since her separation from my bed and board to be paid by my said Executrix and Executor in the name of God, Amen." His "beloved" companion, after the separation from Happy Travice was FANNY SMITH. By Fanny Smith he had: 1. MARTHA TUCKER, born about 1812, who married a CRAIN. 2. JAMES N. TUCKER, born about 1808 3. WILLIAM T. TUCKER, born about 1810, married Paulina Adelina Humphrey 4. ALFRED TUCKER, born about 1814, married Jane Humphrey (sister to Paulina) 5. MELISSA TUCKER, who married a FITSWORTH (he died 1837, Conway County, AR) 6. JEFFERSON TUCKER, born about 1818, married 1847 in Louisiana 7. FANNY TUCKER, born about 1820. These are the children of Alfed and Jane Humphrey Tucker: 1. William F. Tucker, b. about 1833 2. Feraby J. Tucker, b. about 1834 3. Ashley Tucker, b. about 1837 4. Perry Tucker, b. about 1840 5. Hampton Tucker, b. about 1842 6. Melissa Tucker, b. about 1843 7. John Jefferson Tucker (our ancestor), b. about 1845 in Louisiana, d. 1894 in Conroe, Texas, married Anneta Whitcomb, 1875 in Houston, Texas 8.
