    1. [ARCONWAY-L] marriage lookup
    2. yvonne henson
    3. If someone has the time to do a marriage lookup I would appreciate it very much. The bride would be Mrs. Polly Grant to ? Sitterely. The dates to check would be between 1890 and 1900. I think 1897 is the year but it is just a guess. I would also like to see if there is a divorce decree for James Grant and Allie Winton Grant. The year would be 1909. I will gladly pay all cost, copying, postage, and transportation. Thank you very much, yvonne ____________________________ reply to henson@rmi.net web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

    1. [ARCONWAY-L] GRANT surname
    2. yvonne henson
    3. Hello list members -- It has been a few weeks since I posted this and I have some new information so I am trying again. I want to first apologize for the length of this request. I am providing ALL the information that I have. If anyone has any suggestions or recognizes any of the names I would deeply appreciate any/all help in solving this puzzle. I am researching my husbands side of the family. His g-grandmother was suppose to be a Cherokee Indian. I have no proof of this or any evidence to suggest that this is true, only family stories. I do not know where she was born or who her parents were. The only evidence I have of her life is two marriage licenses one for 1890(Jackson County) and one for 1897(Conway County) and the 1900(Conway County), 1910(Yell County), 1920(Lonoke County) census records. She was born 1870 - 1873, maybe as late as 1875 died 1942. (I have been unable to locate a death certificate on her only an obituary no social security either.) She was married 3 times and had children by all three husbands. All her children are deceased. She lived all her life in AR as far as I can tell (according to the census records). She may have been born in OK, but it would have been before OK became a state. The names I have are as follows: Dora Adeline GRANT (1st marriage), M MALONE, (children) Pearl married a HAIL/HALE, Myrtle b ~1892 married W F PAINE/PAYNE (2nd marriage), Noah Strong EDMON(D)SON, (children) Houston Grantson married Mabel MCARTHUR, Charlie married Rose SENBILL (3rd marriage), Joseph Wesley CARLOCK, (children) Ruby several marriages, Hurbert married a FRY She had two brothers, JAMES and WAIN GRANT. I just found them listed in 1900 soundex for Welborn township, Conway county! As being enumerated with POLLY SITTERLEY, listed as mother and head of house. (NOTE: I found in vol5 of Cherokee by blood an application about the Sitterley name. The person is admitted and stated that the grandfather was born in North Carolina.) I have a marriage license for Jim (Jas) GRANT to MRS. ALLIE WINTON August 7, 1903, Conway County. He is listed as 21 years of Cardon Bottom in Yell county. She is listed as 25 same place. Where is/was Cardon Bottom? I also have on for Wain (Wayne) GRANT to MATTIE GRAMBLE February 14, 1903, Conway County. He is listed as 23 years of Atkins in Pope county. She is listed as 29 same place. James GRANT listed as head of household in the 1910 census for Wilson Township, Yell county. He is listed as 25 years old, divorced and married for 6 years. (The years were crossed out.) Also listed in this house was a Polly SITTERLEY. She was listed as his mother, 50 years old, widowed, mother of 6 children with 3 living. Also in the household was a Myrtle MALONE, niece, 18 years of age and single. In the margin of the census form was a notation Negro Ridge Pond. Does anyone know where this place was/is? On the same census 9 visits above is Dora Adeline GRANT, married to Joseph Wesley CARLOCK. However I do not believe Polly is Dora's mother IF the ages listed are even close! But there is also a notation on the margin of her census record, Lower Petit Jean River Road. Does anyone know where this place is/was? Are any of these people familiar to anyone? Does anyone recognize the SITTERLEY name? How about a cemetery somewhere with this name in it? ANY suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you to every one in advance for any help that I receive. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. yvonne ____________________________ reply to henson@rmi.net web page: http://www.rmi.net/~henson Names I am researching: BRENT(S), GRANT, EDMON(D)SON, HENSON, MCARTHUR ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

I found a James Grant as head of household in the 1910 census for Wilson Township, Yell county. He is listed as 25 years old, divorced and married for 6 years. (The years were crossed out.) Also listed in this house was a Polly Sittesley (Sittersley(?)). She was listed as his mother, 50 years old, widowed, mother of 6 children with 3 living. Also in the household was a Myrtle Malone, niece, 18 years of age and single. In the margin of the census form was a notation Negro Ridge Pond. Does anyone know where is place was/is? On the same census 9 visits above is the woman I am searching for Dora Adeline Grant, married to Joseph Wesley Carlock. I believe her to be the sister of James. However I do not believe Polly is Dora's mother IF the ages listed are even close! But there is also a notation on the margin of her census record, Lower Petit Jean River Road. Does anyone know where this place is/was? Are any of these people familiar to anyone? Does anyone recognize the Sittesley (Sittersley(?)) name? How about a cemetery somewhere with this name in it?
