Has anyone ever heard of a place in or near Conway County by this name? My G-Great grandmother is supposed to have died there, sometime after 1910, I last found her in the census that year married to her 2nd husband. Her name was Nancy Carolyn Stroud Vaughan Ramsey. Her 2nd husband was Robert Ramsey. Any info on what/where Overcup is, is appreciated. Thanks. -- Lisa C. HI JETTIE, I HAVEN'T STARTED RUNNING THE HENLEY'S YET BUT MAY NEED HELP LATER. MILLARD HARRISON HENLEY MARRIED MY AUNT WILLIE TAYLOR. HAVE BEEN WORKING OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS BUT WILL START ON THAT LINE OF FAMILY SOON. HAROLD
The 10th annual Henley-Gross Reunion will be held on May 1, 1999 at the Lords School Community Building 4 miles north of Morrilton, Conway County Arkansas, on highway 95. Registration starts at 10:00 AM, with a potluck dinner served at noon. These are the descendants of Jackson Henley, b 1811, married Matilda Rochelle Autrey, and Ealon Wesley Gross, born 1861, married Susannah Lincoln Brown. Many of their descendants still live in the Conway-Van Buren County area. For more information, please contact me. Jettie Henley Parrish
Can anyone help me. I have searched high and low, but am having no luck in finding out much about William Harvey Wild who, I know, was living in Conway Co. in the 1870's. I know who he married and who his children were, one of them was my Grandmother. He married Josephine Abigail Cobb on 6-3-1875 in Conway Co. He worked for Drury Warren in 1870 in Conway Co. A family bible lists his birth place and date as either Columbus or Columbia Kentucky. His date of birth is given as 6-10-1855. Another source gives his birth place as Ohio in 1851. I think the bible is probably more accurate. I believe that he died in 1897 in either Conway Co. or Little Rock. I would surely like to know who his parents were and where they came from, and anything else I can find out about him. If anyone is willing to help me, or is able to help me I would surely appreciate it very much. Stephanie Shurley Kengirlt57@aol.com
I would like to find a marriage record for Drayton Bryant and Minerva (?) who married in Conway County on December 22, 1841. The Conway County Courthouse and the LDS Library only have marriage records going back to 1851. Are there older marriage records anywhere? Perhaps church records? Any ideas would be appreciated. Please respond to: "Cora Woolley" <ladybug@eoni.com> Does anyone know if the Advent Church at Hill Creek still exists?
Cathy, I just read from Goodspeed's. It pretty much tells me what I wanted to know. Thanks so much for the response and all the hard work. Sharolyn
Goodspeed's biographies are online for Conway Co. at http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ar/conway/conway.html There was a book published in the 1980's by the now dissolved Historical Society called "Conway County - Our Land, Our Home, Our People." It is a large black book, hard cover, 548 pages, with some history of the county and family histories donated by different people and was for sale @ $50, plus postage. I do not know if any books are left or if this price is still correct. You can contact Sarah Delle Fiser at 501-354-2027 and see if she still has some of the books.
