    1. Re: Columbia County Website
    2. James. There actually is a precedence for this. In Indiana, there is a GenWeb site for a county. Well, something happened and most of the folks wanted another site with the old manager in charge. He set up one and with a mail list too, and I forget to even go to the GenWeb site. But I have to say, my Columbia Co folks came around 1900 to Magnolia, and they also moved down into Bossier Parish, mostly. I don't believe there are many that I don't know, of the Young family. We have a reunion every year, and all who are interested come to that. Having said that, I think it could be a good "Columbia Co Family History" site for just the things you mentioned. My older brother (70s) has been writing stories of our childhood, mostly the older kids as we are strung out over 25 yrs. He (and a cousin, in Springhill, Webster P. La, has joined in too), sends these stories to all of us that have computers. His spelling is terrible, and he leaves it that way. I do have to interpret for outsiders. We love them! He writes them like a real country boy would. I found out things that I never knew about my Daddy and grandpa, etc. Hunting, fishing, school, work, etc. I encourage everyone to do this. I will look for one I sent to a list in Indiana. Some wrote me that it reminded them of their own childhood during the depression. I had to edit it a bit. Carleen
