Remember the Constitution was a compact between the states and if I remember my contracts class from law school parties to a bi-lateral contract have a right of rescission when the other party breaches their obligations under the instrument. I live in Texas myself--we have the legal right under the 1845 treaty to not only secede on our own motion, but we can also subdivide ourselves into up to 5 states! When I'm governor--I want to secede, seize the Gulf oil fields (Mexico spills more than they extract), then join OPEC and become an international extortion state.
