My father was Chester Malone. My grandfather was Thomas Wesley Malone. I read on one of your posts that Thomas Malone was your greatgrandfather. I can recall my father talking about the story of someone being put out on the side of the road by a stepfather, however it was my understanding that it was my father's father who was put out, but according to a census record Thomas Malone had a stepfather. My father also told me that Mollie Rayborn's family disowned her for marrying Thomas Malone. Another story I can recall is that somewhere in the family a step-grandfather, who was wealthy was on his way to make pay role and that two black men tried to hold him up. The step-grandfather then leaned forward on his horse and came up with two guns and shot and killed the would be robbers. I would really like to hear from you. I think we are second cousins.
