The Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association will have an all day seminar and book fair on Saturday August 13, 2016. Featured speaker will be Diane Giannini, certified genealogist and lecturer. Her lectures will include: (1) Confirming Family Stories Using Special Collections; (2) I Have Found a Document Now What? (Analysis of records and ideas to move research forward); (3) Mapping Your Genealogy - Tracing Ancestors From Place to Place; and (4) Finding the Impossible - Case Study of the Lost Courthouse (How to locate significant records and the importance of collaborating with others). Location for the seminar will be the Broadmoor United Methodist Church ( Pearce Hall) at 3715 Youree Drive, Shreveport. Lunch and syllabus included if pre-registered by August 11. Barnes & Noble will be on site with a large selection of genealogy and history books. Door Prizes to be given. Limited seating and advance registration recommended.
