Does Columbia county have a cemetery book with a list of folks buried there? Are any for sale? Susan
I am searching for a few people who were born in Columbia County. I am hoping someone can help me find them. The first is Edgar Felix Graves, Jr. born in 1915. I am trying to find out if he is still alive and who he married. I think his father was very prominent in that area, in the lumber business. If he is still alive, I would love to get in touch with him. The other person is All Lee Graves born 1915 to Bevery I and Daisy Graves. I am trying to find who she married and if she is alive. I am writing a book on the Graves family and these two people are part of the line. Thanks in advance for any help. Susan Lane
I'm researching these two families in Columbia County and would like to correspond with others researching the same. My GREEN family moved to Columbia Co. from Montgomery Co. NC in 1848. The HIGHT family followed in 1850. These families lived north of McNeil near College Hill Rd. and the Green Family Cemetery is found in that area. Does anyone know if there are any extant newspapers from 1870s Columbia Co.? Karen Groce [email protected]

Hi Dora. Here are a few associated with Columbia County: Cheatham, Green, Clark, Reeves/Reaves, Baldaree, McDermott, Powell, Flinn, Burgess, White, Clemens/Clemons, Bryant, Alderidge, Stocks, Langston, Lewis, Millican and many more that I can't take off the top of my head right now. Try to keep them all in mind when searching, because you never know when one of them might pop up. Seeing the name clicks and then I get a picture of the line in my mind. Thanks for your help and let me know if I can help you. Peter and David Aldridge are my tie to the Alderidges. One of them married Caleb Powell's daughter if I am not mistaken. Thanks again, Dan.
