    2. If anyone on this list is doing research on James D. Jordan family I would appreciate any information you can give me. James is my Gr. Gr. Grandfather. His son Thomas A. Jordan is my Gr. Grandfather. His daughter Mary Maude Jordan is my Grandmother. She married Robert Walter Jones. I have found them in the 1880, 1900, and 1910 census in Columbia Co. but this all the information that I have on them. Would like to know wives maiden names and where they are buried and anything else anyone has. Like I said ,I only know what I have found in the census images. Thanks , and I enjoy this list very much. Columbia Co. is my home. I don't live there now but wish I did. Patricia

    2. James, you are a GEM. I might have to keep in touch with you especially, while I'm trying to piece these families together. Oh Yea, keep me in mind when you do whatever you was going to do with the Columbia Co, Ark. I got to go back and re-read your email. Anyway, I'm glad that someone is hopefully going to put more information online. I'm a widow and don't have a car and very little money. This would be good for people like me. I can tell James that you are for us little guys who can't get around much or do much. James, thanks a whole heap for what you've given me. You're a great guy. Keep up the good work. Your reward for helping people is in the end and God knows it. Thank You Dear God for James. ok...I'm outta here...God Bless You James...Bye...Paulette

He was in the 1812 Census of CW veterans saying he was born 24 Jan 1843 in Harris Co. Ga. Have been unable to find him anywhere else... Thanks for any help. Othilla at < [email protected]>

    2. Hi James, I'm Paulette Adkins Ezernack. I live in Shreveport,La. I've got a difficult circumstance. I've been researching my mom's side of the family. The Traylor and Stewart(Stuart). Seems like my mom told me that the families lived on the Arkansas and Louisiana State Line. I've found some Land records in Columbia Co, Arkansas on both these names but, can't really verify if these families are my relatives. My relatives are dead and my mom is in a Nursing Home and can't remember anything. So, I've been on this search for 4 years and to no avail. First of all, I thought maybe you could see if you might just by chance have these 2 names in the 1880 census. My mom's dad is Thomas Errol Stewart b: 1905 d: 1955. ok, he's buried in Old Town Cemetery in Haynesville,La. Ok, I'm trying to keep this straight in my mind so, I can give you as much information as possible. Now, Thomas's dad was TT Stewart. I found a Temple Stewart(Stuart) on the Columbia Co,Ark Land Record. The Land Record said 1890/04/02 and 1859/07//01. James, the Stewart(Stuart), Traylor, Ware, Goodwin and Owen families were all in that area. My mom use to play with the Owen children and the ware married into the Traylor family and also the Goodwin married into the Traylor family So, they were all there at one time. Now, my question is: Do I look in Haynesville, La or Magnolia,Arkansas or what to get the straight of these families. I also know that mom's GGrandfather William C. Traylor is buried on the Old Traylor Place. My Uncle Don Traylor(my Grandmother's half brother) lives in Magnolia,Arkansas and he's up in age and can't remember like he use to. If it's all possible, could you help me? Thank You very much.

    3. James, No, we are in no way affiliated with Rootsweb or Ancestry.Com. There will be new material added to the Columbia county website on a regular basis, whether it's by volunteers or by visitors to the site. Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I have visited the site at the USGENWEB many times only to find that it is rarely updated. The USGenExchange was started by Joanne Abby, a lady who believes that ALL people should have FREE access to genealogical data on their families. I can send you a link as soon as we are back online as well as notify everyone on this list of the new material we add to the site, as we add it. 3. James, The USGenExchange has a Columbia county website. We are offline at this time upgrading to a DSL server and hope to be back online soon. We have begun collecting marriage records from the courthouse, biographies from Goodspeed's and surveying some of the cemeteries. Our website accepts information submitted by researchers which is posted immediately. Researchers use their e-mail address when submitting material so that anyone else researching that family can contact them. We also use cold fusion which enables a person to type in a surname (say at the cemetery search function) and it brings up everyone in all of the Columbia county cemeteries with that given surname. The only service we can't offer is photos. The USGenExchange is operated by dedicated volunteers who give of their time and resources because of their love of genealogy. The USGenExchange has always been and always will be FREE to anyone who wishes to visit our website. Until we are back online, we are offering lookups to the cemeteries on our mailing list. Anyone interested in a lookup in Waldo Cemetery, Barlow Cemetery, Columbia Cemetery, Green Cemetery and Waldo African-American Cemetery, please feel free to send an e-mail to me at [email protected] Please include the surnames and cemetery you wish to be searched. 2. Stephanie: I have several of those Myfamily sites. Two of them I pay for, but they still don't have the abilities that a website has. For one thing Ancestry.com now owns all the rootsweb stuff and one day they could be defunct or the price could go through the roof. I can start another site there and see if there is enough interest in it then I could get a regular website and go from there. The only problem is if it deemed necessary that we needed a website of our own I will need some help to get it started. I have a distant cousin in Okla that does that stuff for a living, but he is hard to contact. Anyway the idea still keeps rolling around in my pea brain. J. Peterson

    3. Doris I can't seem to hear from Pete at all, maybe you could do a lookup for me for W.H. Reeves/Reaves. He should be abt 37 in the 1880 census. I think his name was Wm Henry but not sure. I'm wondering if he has any descendants left there in Columbia Co. too. He was my gr grandmother, Susan Ann Reeves Roberson's, brother. Him & T.H. Phillips (don't know his relation if any), signed her pension papers saying they lived in Columbia Co. Ark.(in 1915.) But they had all lived there in 1870 & W.H. Reeves had stayed, his sister had moved to Polk Co Ar., then on to Okla. I believe the Ark death index says he died there in Columbia Co. Ar., but he is listed as Wilburn. But we all know how these spellings go.....
