I have a Corrine EVANS as the daughter of Walter EVANS and Elizabeth BENNETT. I descend from Elizabeth's uncle, Thomas James BENNETT. Jackie had very good records and was a walking book of knowledge on the Britt family. I feel priviledged to have known her through the Britt family research. Elizabeth Craft nee Crain was Drucilla's sister (father John Dixon Crain) and listed in the Crain family records as mother to William Penn Norton, Buse Clinton, Elbert H. Craft, and Thadeus (Gene) (both of whom ended up next door to each other in Nacogdoches, TX in 1910. The Crain family records list only a father for Elbert.. My GG Grandfather (according to my father) was John (not William) Harrison Britt b. 1821, and married to Jane Adeline Thompson then married Sarah (Sallie) Blackburn in 1850... The 1850 Lafaytte census shows John and Lutilda Britt along with a John W. age 24 ( I believe this to be John H. after looking at the original document, and the age was probably miss quoted.) and his children Elcy, John Clark, Louisa (eliza) and Harrison... John Harrison and Sarah Blackburn had a daughter named Mary J. who married Jonathan F. Stevens who had a son listed in the 1880 Columbia County census as William H. Stevens (later listed as Willie Stevens living near to Robert H. Britt and William H. Britt also grandsons of Sarah and John (always listed as Harrison) Willie went on to have a family Stella (wife), Ester, Birtie M. Johnnie, and Corbin...
