Ark. Gazette April 1, 1925, Warren, Mar. 31 - Difficulty in obtaining a jury in Circuit Court here today accounted for a late start in the introduction of testimony with which the state hopes to prove that Frank Parker, Cleveland county mill hand, killed Wiley Ray, 50 year old farmer and mill hand, near here the night of Jan. 27. Ray's body was found in a ditch along the highway north of town the following morning. He had been shot through the head. The state's principal witness, who took the stand for a short time this afternoon, is a young girl who lived in the Wiley Ray home, and who is expected to prove that Parker came there the night of the 27th to see Ray on "important business." That Ray went away with him and was never seen alive thereafter. Little beyond the opening arguments and questioning of one witness was achieved in today's proceedings and with a mass of testimony to be heard tomorrow it is considered unlikely that the case will reach the jury before Thursday.
